Create an IEP goal plan for 11th grade student who is 16 years old with Down Syndrome. The student excels in visual learning and hands-on activities. The students has difficulty with abstract thinking and problem-solving making math difficult. The focus academically and socially is on life skills as the student becomes a young adult.

The student does well with structure and consistent behavior expectations and has an excellent memory of history facts. The student struggles to socially interact with peers and becomes dysregulated in loud spaces such as the cafeteria and gym.

The student is currently reading at a Level H (Lexile 350) in texts and struggles with comprehension. The student is a kind, hard-working child. Congratulate seniors who have identified their post-secondary plans including going to college, entering the workforce, joining the military, and more. Also thank the parent Booster Club for hosting the fall sports banquet which saw 5 athletes sign commitments to play athletics in college. Upcoming events include parent teacher conferences on Feb. 21 from 4:00-7:00 pm, registration for next year courses starts March 1, and art show starts March 8. Remind parents to review the course guidebook posted on the website to help their students select courses for next year. Parents should note new courses available in the art and music program. Counselors are also available for parents and students to meet and plan future coursework.

Also congratulate the student council for their successful food drive and the basketball team for their undefeated season. Upcoming events include parent teacher conferences on Feb. 25 from 4:00-7:00 pm (sign up using the link teachers sent in a separate email), open house for 8th graders to learn about the high school on March 5 at 6:00 pm at Jefferson High School, registration for next year courses starts March 1, and music concert March 15 at 6:00pm in the auditorium. Remind parents to make sure they keep money in their student's lunch account to avoid negative balances. Also remind parents of upcoming construction at the middle school starting in April that will impact the parking lot and student drop off procedures. More information will be coming as construction begins.

Upcoming events include parent teacher conferences on Feb. 25 from 4:00-7:00 pm (sign up using the link teachers sent in a separate email), Pancake Breakfast on March 1 from 8:00-10:00 am, music concert March 10 at 6:00pm at the high school auditorium. Remind parents that the book fair will happen during parent teacher conferences and they should consider purchasing books from teacher wish lists for classroom libraries. Also remind parents to be careful when dropping students off at school. There have been too many near accidents and student safety is paramount.

Create a sub plan for a geometry class on different types of triangles for a substitute teacher that does not know how to teach math concepts. Students do have access to a textbook and their laptops. If students will need their laptops for this lesson identify appropriate websites or resources needed for the lesson. Include that emergency information can be found in the folder on the desk. There are three students with special needs who have a paraprofessional with them for support.

Be sure to keep Jimmy and Jane from sitting by one another.

Create a unit plan for a grade 11 AP U.S. History unit on the Great Depression. Include a unit summary. Write key learning targets aligned to Advanced Placement content standards. Include an essential driving question, key vocabulary, and summative assessment strategies for the unit. List what students should know and be able to do by the end of the unit.
